Radio Silence

Somewhere between the drugs and apathy I fell off of tumblr and into an abyss. I have since crawled from this black void in the center of the creative side of my mind and decided to rejoin the millions ranting about the futile events in the world, or their even more futile attempt to make meaning out of futility. Yes, I’m talking to you. Blogger, you 21st century locust, you are as lost as I am. You and I are equally futile because so long as we then we will certainly be forgotten. We are doomed to the same fate as anyone who came before us who we have forgotten about. Many have contributed great things to humanity and yet no statue still stands for them. The first human to utilize a tool must have been convinced he would be remembered by his people. Like that brilliant ancestor we all share, we are contributing to blogs which will mean nothing when humanity takes another few steps forward. In time, blogs will fade into obscurity and all of the thought we have harvested to fill these generic pages will too be lost.

Being lost in the collective memory may be the best fate for an individual for at least our most private activities will not be recounted by archeologists in thousands of years returning to radioactive wasteland that was once their species home world. If we blow ourselves into pieces then the servers that store this information will cease operation and we won’t have really written anything. It’s utterly beautiful if you imagine how much of our culture has been transcribed into binary and is now susceptible to complete destruction. Just as books can be burned, electronics can be rendered useless by an electromagnetic pulse. As nuclear bombs explode in the space above us, I doubt it will matter if you finished every recipe in Julia Child’s cookbook. I look forward to this coming cleansing of the meaningless chatter that the internet has become.

“The dream - and indeed it is a dream - of [many on the Left] is that the enemy corporate state will willingly give the stolen riches of the earth back to the people and that this will be accomplished through compromising talk and empty words … To this, our bullets scream loudly. The enemy’s bloodthirsty greed will be destroyed by the growing spirit of the people and their thirst for freedom. We call upon the people to judge for themselves whether our tactics of waging struggle are correct or incorrect in fighting the enemy by any means necessary.” Angela Atwood

AS FOR AN EXPLANATION OF THIS BLOG

i am fully aware that nobody reads this blog. i am not writing it for an internet audience, or for others to keep up on for fashion hints. this blog has two functions: the first is to give me the capablity to rant in public and the second is for there to be a public record of my less interesting ideas so they may be accessible if ever the need arises.

being that i am a man of words, i find tumblr to be an easy to use medium that does not require me to pick up pen and paper and it therefore enables me to rant as bombastically as I choose without having to bore any particular group. i understand that the manner in which i speak is unpopular in the dialect of english that i speak and so i spare my contemporaries the lavish descriptions and write them down (type them) instead. in the end this helps stabilize me and prevent me from feeling i am without voice.

this insignificant blog also helps me to make my imprint on the world accessible to anyone that would like either a sample of my opinion or writing. though i barely try to make this blog neat, attractive or even relevant, it offers insight into my person. such inisght might help someone some day make a good decision that involves me. we will see.

so if anyone is actually reading this, have fun with it. it may shape your perspective on me and if it does so then it has accomplished more than i intended it to. t is more likely this post falls upon deaf ears, and in that case, talking to myself is enjoyable.

BULLET-TRAIN CULTURE

it seems as if everyone is rushing somewhere or to something. as if life is a constant race to the next goal. these goals lead to no certain destination, real or imagined, and it seems as if the goals only fill the void. people seek to fulfil some over-romantic need to have a purpose. as if having a purpose for living makes life any more or any less worth living. this desire for meaning is profound that most people subscribe to religions as their source of goals. they force themselves to believe in things so that they may install meaning into their life.

in the end occidental society all seems to be a waste of life. there is no clear alternative and to find one would require one to stop wasting time on trivial (and frighteningly postmodern) pursuits such as tumblr. of course most people lack the imagination necessary to compute such a task as forging one’s path in life that didn’t end in sudden, tragic overdoses.

it would just be nice if everyone were to drop the incredibly fast pace they seem to force upon themselves, for there is no point to it.
